People are asking, what are the possibilities of using solar energy in the Polish climate? We constantly hear that there is no sun in Poland. This is obviously a falsehood, as Poland has some of the best conditions to use solar energy in Europe. The intensity of solar radiation is of course different in different regions of the country, and it ranges from 900kWh/m2 to 1200kWh/m2. However, throughout the country you can successfully install smaller or larger photovoltaic systems (solar farms) which will provide free solar energy.
Over the past 50 years the efficiency of PV modules has increased by several percent. At the same time, the price of module nominal power for 1W dropped from 1500USD/ W to approx. 4,5USD/W. That's why you should be very cautious if you are using publications / databases made several years ago as this information would no longer be accurate.
Without any support mechanisms, it will take longer to see a return on your investment. The Renewable Energy Sources law, planned for this year, opens up new opportunities and investment in photovoltaic will become profitable in Poland. After the Act goes live on RES. the solar power of 100 kW, which generates an annual average of 90,000 kWh per year, will earn 99,000 zł (according to preferential rates guaranteed for 15 years specified in the bill of July 2012). The payback period will be about 5 years with the capital costs of 492000 zł, and the plant will earn 990 000 zł. in the next 10 years of the preferential rate.
From a technical point of view, it is possible to produce electricity from photovoltaic modules, which can be used to power heaters. In practice, however, it is futile to convert the solar energy into electricity and then process it into heat, since it is possible to use directly the solar heat for heating purposes. We use the solar panels, which absorb the solar heat and send it to the interior of the building as a domestic water heater or C.O. It’s cheaper this way with higher conversion efficiency than electricity generated heat in photovoltaic modules.
This industry is growing at a rate of 40% per year with constant research and development. Some of this work results in the generation of cells and photovoltaic modules, which can be potentially cheap to produce. However, it’s a long way from the laboratory to mass production and it often turns out that the developed technology is not suitable for implementation in industrial production or not suitable for use in conditions outside the laboratory.
Have money to spend without the perfect idea for a business? Let’s invest in Solar Park and we will help you with its implementation.
